What is PREP Links?
PREP Links is an extensive resource library for parents and teachers to help teaching teams to develop their capacity to meet diverse learning needs in the classroom. It is a teaching room that enables educators and parents to brainstorm and network ideas that will help the student to succeed in the classroom and be the best that they can be.
What can I do in PREP Links?
- "Test drive" software and other adaptive technology (Boardmaker, Writing with Symbols, Alphasmart, Simon Sounds it Out, Intellikeys, Dragon Naturally Speaking as well as other trial versions available)
- Problem solve behavioural and academic concerns with our Inclusion Specialist
- Access current information about Down Syndrome
- Create visual schedules and other visual support tools at the workstation using Boardmaker and Writing with Symbols
- Peruse an extensive library of teaching resource books, modified units and instructional materials that are available to borrow for a 2 week period
How do I get a PREP Links Membership?
- Memberships can be purchased by calling Barb McHarg , Acting Community Outreach Coordinator, at (403)282.5011 ext. 130 or by email to set up an appointment. Forms are also available at the front desk at the PREP Program.
- Parents accessing materials must supply a signed copy of the Teacher Request For Service Form in order to share the materials with the school. The curriculum goals must be identified by the classroom teacher.
