The PREP Program

The PREP Program is a resource centre dedicated to the inclusion of individuals with Down syndrome in home, school and community life.

It is a registered, non-profit organization for parents, families and friends of people with Down syndrome. Founded in 1988 by a registered SLP, The PREP Program now provides a wide variety of services and resources in individuals with Down Syndrome in the Calgary area and around the world.

Services Provided

The PREP Program is pleased to offer the following services to its clients:

Family Support
Workshops, newsletters, socials and individuals consults with Family Liaisons connect parents to other families and community resources.
PREP 1: Early Learning
Parent-child play groups plus speech and occupational therapy consults. Come celebrate first words and first steps.
PREP 2: ECS Classes
Small classes with certified teachers plus individual speech therapy, occupational therapy and physiotherapy.
PREP 3, 4 and 5: School Age Students
Student Health Partnership-funded speech and occupational therapy services, plus the innovative Every Child A Reader program.
PREP Links: Community Outreach
A resource room with the knowledge, tools and technology to support curriculum adaptation in the inclusive classroom.
